PRESS RELEASE – 4th April 2011
TRAINEES WITH DISABILITIES GAIN CATERING QUALIFICATIONS AT BOURNEMOUTH CHARITY
THE CRUMBS PROJECT based in Boscombe recently held a presentation of certificates to 9 trainees currently attending the CRUMBS Project. Parents and carers also attended and celebrated the trainees achievements. Boscombe MP Tobias Ellwood presented the awards. “This is a great charity and I am delighted to see how well the trainees are progressing here” he remarked.
CRUMBS trainees currently gain valuable work experience, skills and training at their working cafe and bakery in Bournemouth; all trainees are referred to the project and have mostly either a learning disability or mental health issue.
CRUMBS is also working to develop links with local employers who will then benefit from a willing pair of hands supported by 1:1 job coaching and support throughout the period of the work trial. As well as catering CRUMBS trainees are also looking to experience other fields of work.
